The Brilliant Burrowers

Salmon Pink Bird-Eating Tarantula

Step into our tropical zone and meet one of the largest species of spider in the entire world! Hailing from the forests of north-east Brazil, the Salmon Pink Bird-Eating Tarantula is a true jungle giant. Now, don't let the name frighten you! Despite their impressive title, these tarantulas very rarely eat birds. Instead, they are master ambush predators who prefer a crunchy diet of bugs. They love to dig cozy burrows and wait patiently for a tasty insect to cross their path before quickly pouncing. We know spiders aren't for everyone, but remember, they are much more scared of you than you are of them! They will always try to move away from danger first.
