Argentine Horned Frog

Discover the weird and wonderful side of our tropical zone! Native to the rainforests of South America, the Argentine Horned Frog is a true marvel of camouflage. Thanks to their perfectly round shape and incredibly large mouths, they’ve earned the fantastic nickname of the "Pacman Frog"—just like the famous video game character! Sporting large bulging eyes, bumpy skin, and unique green and brown patterns, they blend seamlessly into the forest floor. They are brilliant ambush predators, digging themselves into the soil to wait patiently for a snack to wander past. Step up to the glass and see if you can spot our resident Pacman perfectly hidden in their enclosure!

Care & Conservation

Protecting the Rainforest Floor

We focus on creating excitement around our animal encounters while highlighting the care, conservation, and respect behind every experience. Like many amphibians, Argentine Horned Frogs absorb moisture through their skin, making them incredibly sensitive to pollution and changes in their environment. By learning about these unique frogs, visitors discover how important it is to protect fragile South American habitats from deforestation and keep our planet clean!
