The Stealthy River Sisters

Cuvier’s Dwarf Caiman

Dive into discovery and meet Orinoco and Sao Francisco! Named after the majestic rivers that flow through their natural habitat, these two juvenile sisters are a must-see in our tropical zone. The Cuvier’s Dwarf Caiman is actually the smallest species of alligator in the entire crocodilian family, native to the lush rivers and wetlands of Central and South America. But don't let their smaller size fool you! Armed with tough, protective skin and incredibly long, powerful jaws, they are brilliant ambush predators. Step up to the glass and watch how they hunt, they love to wait perfectly still and patiently in the water until it's time to quickly snap up their dinner!
