Following our short closure after the devastating damage caused by storms, we are delighted to announce we are re-opening on Friday 17th November at 10am. Please note our seal pool remains closed whilst we complete essential repairs.
Scotland’s only family owned aquarium can’t wait to welcome you!
Immerse yourself in our magical kingdom under the sea…
St Andrews Aquarium is a magical underwater kingdom where hundreds of different species of animal are waiting to greet you! We have so many animals for you to encounter, from cheeky meerkats and poisonous frogs, to sharks, piranhas, and crocodiles! You can say hi to Nemo and Dory, hang out with the Humboldt penguins, and watch Scotland’s newest seal pup grow up.
An underwater world of adventure…
St Andrews Aquarium has been family owned and run since 1999, and we’re totally dedicated to the welfare of our animals. With more than 120 species on show every day, our animals are the superstars who make the aquarium such a fun, engaging day out for families.
Set in the cliffs overlooking St Andrews bay, our aquarium is a magical underwater world. When you visit us we’ll lead you into a world full of adventure, discovery, and education. You’ll get up close and personal with our octopus, sharks, spiders, seals, poison dart frogs, crocodiles, penguins, and so many more. You’ll be charmed by our fabulous meerkat family and get to meet some new members of the aquarium family – the adorably feisty marmosets!
There’s so much to learn about animals, habitats, and the impact of climate change as you make your way through the aquarium. You’ll leave with a stack of facts, a good coffee, and a nice toy from the gift shop.
Accessibility Information.
Despite our best efforts, and significant investment, our family-owned aquarium is unable to be modified enough to be wheelchair friendly. Our team continue to make every effort to ensure everyone who wants an amazing animal adventure, can be welcomed into St. Andrews Aquarium, however we simply cannot make our Victorian-era building safe for those in wheelchairs. We are working with accessibility partners to try and find a viable solution to allow us to once again provide fun-filled family experiences for all. We will update as soon as we have any news.
