Booking a visit? You’ll be safe with us

We’re good to go!

We’ve worked hard to make sure that St Andrews Aquarium achieved the “We’re Good To Go” accreditation. It’s the official UK mark to signal that we’ve worked hard to put  process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. Measures such as our one-way system and timed entry slots give you space to safely enjoy all of our exhibits in your own time.

You can be sure that we’ve done everything we can to make your visit safe, but just as fun as ever!

Book your entry slot

Social distancing is important, so we have opened up 15 minute entry slots. It works for us so we can keep you Covid-safe, but it gives visitors a better experience too. Less queuing and more space equals more time with the animals, which is what you’re here for!

Remember, your tickets are an all-day pass to the aquarium. Book a time slot that suits your family, safe in the knowledge that you’re welcome to stay all day, or come and go as you please.

Wheelchair users

We’ve had to put a one way system in place for now, which sadly means we’re unable to safely welcome wheelchair users. We’re extremely sorry that this is the case, and we’ll welcome you back as soon as we reasonably can.

Masks

Please bring your own mask to wear in the aquarium, as they’re still mandatory in Scotland. If you have an animal print mask, then so much the better …

Enjoy your visit safely

The animals have missed their visitors, and we can’t wait to welcome you back. There are just a few things we ask of you.

Social distancing

You know the drill: give other visitors space, and they’ll do the same for you. It makes for a better experience for everyone!

Hand Sanitiser

There will be a hand sanitiser station at the door, please keep our staff safe by using this before entering the Aquarium.

Go contactless

We highly recommend booking in advance so we don’t have to turn any visitor away, but if we have capacity we’ll accept contactless payment at the door.

Toilets

The toilets are on the stairs as you go down into the aquarium. Because of the one way system we recommend that you visit the toilets at the beginning of your visit as you won’t be able to return to them. Only one family can use the toilets at a time. We’ll clean the toilets often throughout the day.

In the aquarium

Our animals will be very glad to see you all, they have missed all the attention they’re used to! Here are a few things you need to know to enjoy your visit.

There will be hand sanitising stations throughout, please use them as often as you feel you need to.

We’ll be cleaning frequently throughout the day; in the meantime please try not to touch the tanks for safety reasons.

Stick together with your group, and encourage small children to stay close to you.

We’re not running our daily animal talks just now, which we’re sad about. They’ll be back once restrictions are eased, and we’re looking forward to it already!

Exiting the aquarium

Due to the one-way system, you’ll exit via the coffee shop and ramp.

If you want to leave a buggy at reception, our team will make sure it’s waiting for you at the exit when you’re ready.

Feeding Experiences and Annual Pass holders

All our feeding experiences are postponed due to the restrictions. If you have a feeding experience booked, a member of our team will be in touch to reschedule your experience as soon as it’s safe.

Our Annual Pass holders will all be given an extra four months to enjoy their visits with us.

We are so happy to be able to welcome you all back! We have missed our daily visitors, and our animals are ready to see some new faces.
